ZAP explores the tension between chaos and control, between structure and intuition, between the artificial, the unknown and the deeply human.

The works are built around a repeated geometric form: sharp, digital and signal-like. The zap structures reference the language of technology, where a “zap” triggers connection between systems, enabling communication, transfer and automation. Here that concept becomes visual: a framework for connection, not only between systems, but between states of being.

At the centre of each piece sits an organic paint form, created through fluid processes guided by intuition and happenchance rather than control. Colours are selected instinctively and later reinterpreted through the symbolic language of crystals, energy and unseen forces. Meaning is not imposed, but revealed.

Extending beyond the wall works, the installation presents fragments, traces and coded references as though documenting the aftermath of an event. Scattered forms appear catalogued, measured and connected, suggesting an active system beneath the surface. Whether these fragments are the remains of an explosion, the emergence of a new organism, or evidence of an intelligence assembling itself is left deliberately unresolved.

These works exist in the space between what can be measured and what can only be felt. Between the coded and the unknowable. They reflect a belief that not everything is governed by logic; that there are signals, patterns and intelligences beyond our current understanding, quietly shaping form and experience.
