More ways to get involved with Visual Arts Scotland. In addition to our exhibition program, VAS offers residencies and other opportunities through the year.
23rd March 2026 - 31st December 2026
Anywhere in Scotland
We currently have 3 positions open to join our council and work with the VAS team to deliver our exciting programme of events.
Trustees and co-opt council members are not paid, however this is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience in the nuts and bolts of exhibitions and residencies, as well as having a voice in a team who are working hard to support the future of the visual arts in Scotland. The council meets online every 8 weeks, with smaller groups meeting more regularly to plan projects, select for exhibitions, or gather on site for the hands-on work required at exhibition venues.
2nd April 2026 - 3rd May 2026
This opportunity gives artists to explore multiple ideas around the chair, as identity, as a symbol of loss and grief, systems of hierarchy and power, and also around form and function. Submissions are welcome across all disciplines.
This collaboration will be an open call to WASPS and VAS members at all stages of their careers and of all disciplines. The open call will be released in Late Autumn 2025 and selection and notifications sent out in February 2026.
