SALT

Sculptural drawings, exploring sea-level rise and the threat of salt intrusion on our coastal regions. This salt intrusion phenomena is a threat not only through sea level rise and the absorption of land mass, but also to our delicate native ecosystems in the surrounding coastlines. This handmade litmus paper contains a natural purple dye that reacts with alkaline solutions such as seawater, turning it blue. This process is indicative of the reaction our coastal regions will experience with salt intrusion.
