Visual Arts Scotland is delighted to announce our first partnership with Fidra Fine Art in a collaborative exhibition for VAS professional members.
Fidra Fine Art is a unique space in the beautiful village of Gullane, East Lothian, taking its name from the Bass rock’s neighbour, an uninhabited island off the town’s coast. Run by Alan Rae, it has a rolling exhibition programme of contemporary Scottish artists complemented by work from some of the most influential Scottish names of the last hundred years. VAS is delighted to be working with Fidra to offer this opportunity to professional members.
We welcome works in all mediums and there is no theme to the exhibition.
The exhibition runs 17th October – 29th November 2026.
How to Apply:
Send a PDF application by 5pm on 26th July to admin@visualartsscotland.org including:
Images of 6 works with their titles, mediums, unframed sizes and prices. This should be in one PDF document with all information listed under each art work.
An artist statement (max. 200 words) and an up-to-date CV or artist biography.
Subject title of email to be ‘Fidra VAS Professional Members Submission’.

Please note that selected artists will be restricted to two works. There is no restriction on size but please consider that space is limited.
Artists should have their own insurance.
Eligibility:
All selected artists must be a VAS professional member and must remain a professional member for the duration of the exhibition.
Key Dates:
Deadline for Applications: 26th July 2026 5pm.
Notification of Selection: End of week beginning 27th July 2026.
Drop off of work (for selected artists): 21st September 2026 – 12th October 2026 11am – 4pm (by appointment with Fidra Fine Art).
Location: 7 – 8 Stanley Road, Main Street, Gullane, EH3 2AD
Private View: 17th October 2026 2 – 5pm
Exhibition Dates: 17th October – 29th November 2026
Collection of Unsold Work: 30th November 2026 11am – 4pm
There will be a flat £15 hang fee for all selected artists payable to Visual Arts Scotland.
The Exhibition will be administered by Fidra Fine art who will take a commission fee of 40%. Vas will take no further commission.
