This is a body of work which began with a memory of stacking playing cards across the floor of my grandparents home, One card supporting another creating spaces in which little figures could inhabit. I have taken this idea and made my version of a Japanese shoji screen on which I have painted architectural details; light switches, cornices, skirting boards, patterns from a rug and ornaments gifted to me. The work can be assembled in many configurations . At times it creates the ground floor plan of my grandparents flat. At other times it plays with the light casting long shadows across the room.
