This multimedia light installation uses digital and lens technologies to create a miniature immersive work which changes with the angle of view. The title refers to an ancient geometry problem and also politically reflects the impossible task of solving intractable dilemmas where interests oppose.
The installation and associated film build vivid colour-fields which leave an afterimage on the gazing eye. This creates a unique personal experience, reminiscent of the Ganzfeld effect (Ganzfeld, 1930), a phenomenon of visual stimulation thought to create an altered state of consciousness. The work becomes a presence which affects the viewer’s awareness of their own presence in the world.
