I am Sandra Vick, an artist whose work explores landscapes, mountains, and the interplay between natural processes and human influence over time. I work primarily in painting and drawing, focusing on silhouette, texture, and the relationship between foreground detail and distant forms. My practice is rooted in immersive observation, capturing the immediate impression of a place and the layered stories it holds. I am drawn to en plein air and immersive work, spending time in the landscape to observe, sketch, and paint directly on site. This approach allows me to respond to light, texture, and form in a way that informs both my large-scale paintings and smaller studies, producing work that is conceptually rich and visually immediate. Education 2005-08 MFA Drawing and Painting, Edinburgh College of Art, University of Edinburgh. 2001-05 BA (Hons) Drawing and Painting, Edinburgh College of Art, University of Edinburgh. 2000-01 Foundation in Art and Design awarded with Distinction, Leith School of Art, Edinburgh 1994-05 Postgraduate Diploma in Health Economics, University of Tromsø, Norway 1990-92 MPhil Health Economics, University of Wales, Bangor, Wales 1987-92 BA(Hons) Banking, Insurance & Finance, University of Wales, Bangor, Wales
