MARK

MULHOLLAND

Disciplines: Painting

Materials: Acrylic, Oil
Mark is an award winning professional portrait, figurative and landscape artist from Glasgow, who graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art in 1993. Mark enjoys working across multiple artistic genres; as such his creative process and resultant final works retain a dynamism of composition and technique. The artistic style varies depending on the subject, and he likes mixing elements of realism and stylisation, often within the same work. These two features coupled with Mark’s love for the inclusion of vibrant colour have become somewhat of a signature of his working process. Whether it be portraiture, figurative or landscape, Mark encourages his sitters/clients to reveal more about their persona and their likes, as this encourages an energetic creative identity to art that contains strong narrative features. Mark exhibits his original artworks in exhibitions and galleries across the UK and regularly accepts portrait and landscape commissions from clients across the UK, Europe and North America. As well as appearing on Portrait Artist of the Year 2020, Mark has been shortlisted to exhibit at the following prestigious awards: The BP Portrait Award 2014, The Royal Society of Portrait Painters 2017, The Scottish Portrait Awards 2017, 2018, 2021, 2023 (Second Prize), 2024 & The British Art Prize 2022. Mark in Currently a member of Visual Arts Scotland and the Scottish Artists Union.
