As a sculptor dedicated to public art, my practice is fundamentally rooted in the creation of enduring works that resonate deeply within the built environment. My process is a continuous dialogue between the natural world and the rich tapestry of human heritage, translating these profound themes into tangible forms that enrich public spaces. I work predominantly with robust, sympathetic materials such as brick, stone, and various metals, chosen for their inherent strength, longevity, and ability to integrate seamlessly with architectural and urban landscapes. This choice of medium is not merely practical; it is an active participation in the story of human construction and resilience, echoing the very fabric of our communities. The themes of nature and heritage are the bedrock of my sculptural narratives. I explore the intricate patterns and rhythms of the natural world – from microscopic forms to sweeping landscapes – and seek to encapsulate their beauty, fragility, and vital importance. Simultaneously, I delve into the layers of human history, local narratives, and shared cultural legacies, aiming to create artworks that reflect the unique identity and stories of a place and its people. My sculptures are designed to be more than static objects; they are intended as focal points for contemplation, fostering a deeper connection between individuals and their surroundings. Whether through carved reliefs that evoke geological formations or free-standing forms that recall forgotten traditions, I strive to create works that enhance, inform, and stimulate discussion. It is my hope that each piece offers an opportunity for reflection,
