Originally from Fife, I am a recent graduate of Edinburgh College of Art with a BA (Hons) in Painting.
I began 2025 with a three-month residency at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, exhibiting in the RSA New Contemporaries exhibition and working as a Sessional Art Worker with Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity.
My practice focuses on sculptural assemblages and “3D” paintings constructed from crudely manufactured materials such as cardboard, clay, and other discarded items. These are forcefully bonded with hot glue and disguised with garish layers of paint and pastel.
By incorporating scrap materials like fabric, packaging, and general detritus, I create unconventional subjects that explore aspects of everyday life.
The themes in my work centre around community, belonging and human relationships. I strive to create pieces that are relatable and accessible, offering audiences a connection to the familiar, regardless of their background or experience with fine art. Though not traditionally aesthetically pleasing, the works are deeply recognisable and narratively rich—affectionate odes to the eccentric characters of our complex contemporary world.
