Gibb

My research and artwork are inspired by the landscape in which I live, observing the other-than-human lives that frequent my garden, walking in the nearby woods, or rummaging through a scrapyard. I enjoy navigating between several projects simultaneously, which can be unplanned and contingent upon circumstances. Reflecting on the narrative of my work, the consistent themes of intergenerational relationships, the interconnections between individuals, both personal and political, and their connection with the natural world are evident. These core curiosities are at the centre of my work.

Previous Experience

While studying for my degree, I exhibited at the RSA Annual Exhibition 2025, which coincided with my graduate show. In 2024, I exhibited at The City Arts Centre as part of The Scottish Landscape Awards 2023/24. I received the Paolozzi Travel Award from the ECA in the summer of 2024, and I have won the Runner-up Award in the Astaire Art Competition for two consecutive years. At present, I am studying for an MA in Contemporary Art Practice at Edinburgh College of Art on a full Darlington Scholarship. I am an active member of The Working Class Collective, a group of artists who identify with the term ‘working class’ and will be exhibiting with them at Whitespace Edinburgh over Easter this year.
