Wei Lin won the Powderhall Bronze Foundry Award for his 2025 ceramic sculpture ‘Generative Bloom’.

“In an increasingly digital world, my art practice employs 3D printing and generative design to bridge technology with visual expression, dissolving boundaries between art forms. This approach is embodied in my ceramic sculpture, Blooming, which explores how a simple element can become a foundational component, weaving together diverse stories and emotions to reveal deeper layers of identity. I find particular beauty in the a symbol of growth and potential. Blooming interprets organic structure derived from this singular form. While one arc suggests part of a circle, a sequence of arcs evokes movement, direction, identity, relationships, and space. Ultimately, the work invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences, memories, and imaginations, fostering a deeper connection to the objects that shape our surroundings.”

Awarded for best sculpture, selected by Powderhall Bronze.
