Fiona Hoskyns-Abrahall won the Flora Wood Award for her 2025 tapestry ‘Eeny Meeny Miny Mo’.
“My work explores the ongoing battle we are facing with anti-microbial resistance. Scientists are working to create new diagnostic tests that rapidly and accurately identify the presence of a bacterial infection and the right antibiotic to prescribe. The simple paper dipstick strips with their juicy fruit colours which are used by GPs to identify urinary infections will soon be replaced.”
This award was presented by Visual Arts Scotland for the most original artwork in the exhibition.
