ABOUT

Routes for emerging artists – negotiating funding and public galleries

This is the second in a series of networking and discussion events organised by Visual Arts Scotland.
It takes the form of a panel discussion, aimed at recently graduated artists and makers who want help and advice
negotiating the world of funding and approaching public galleries. Although aimed at recent graduates, the points discussed will be relevant to any artist at any stage.

It can often be confusing to apply for projects, funding and exhibitions. Join a panel of artists, curators and arts
professionals in an attempt to demystify this process. How are selections made? Networks formed? What are the
best ways to approach people and organizations? What routes are open to recent graduates entering into the art
world? This is an accessible and informal conversation which will help answer some of these questions, with
pragmatic information.

Join us in the exhibition space afterwards for a glass of wine and to network with the speakers and fellow attendees.

Speakers:
Stephen Palmer, Creative Scotland
Cara Walker, MA Glass student at ECA, Quest Scholarship recipient
