Centenary Exhibition: Now And Then

16–25 August 2024

Dalkeith Palace

We’re excited to announce part two of Visual Arts Scotland’s Centenary Exhibition taking place in Dalkeith Palace this August 2024. This follows our 4 star annual exhibition Then and Now that took place at Edinburgh’s RSA earlier this year and continues our celebration of 100 Years of Visual Arts Scotland.

This is VAS’s first exhibition at Dalkeith Palace and we are inviting artists and makers into the beautiful, prestigious building to share their work and celebrate our innovative creative community amongst the grand interior setting of a 1711 country house. We aim to celebrate contemporary fine art alongside applied arts and design disciplines; the crossover of this relationship being central to our message of inclusivity and celebrating the range of creative practices.

For ‘Now and Then’ we are inviting applications from VAS members and Non-members across the globe (you do NOT have to be based in Scotland to apply) to exhibit in this sprawling 17 room exhibition. We welcome submissions in painting, printmaking, photography, drawing, sculpture, audio, text, textiles, woodwork, furniture, glass, large works, moving image, installation, performance, and jewellery
