Scott Smith is a contemporary silversmith based at Deemouth Artist Studios in Aberdeen, celebrated for combining traditional techniques with a modern design approach. Raised in NorthEast Scotland, he draws inspiration from local Pictish stones and ancient metalwork, informing his detailed, hand-raised silverware. Skilled in chasing, carving and forging, Scott creates functional artworks that echo Scotland’s heritage while reflecting a contemporary voice. His work balances precision and spontaneity, honouring the past while pushing silversmithing into new territory. Committed to craftsmanship, storytelling, and community, he continues to advocate for Scottish silversmithing through commissions, exhibitions, and his expanding body of work.
