Sara Cunningham-Bell works in her studio on the Causeway Coast, Ireland. Central to her work is the endeavour to interrupt the dualisms that divide up the lived world, namely spirit/matter. SCB practice is supported by a: Post-Grad level Masters at Edinburgh College of Art, Glasgow Strathclyde University, Queen’s University; receiving the Andrew Grant Award for undergraduate degree work, representing Ireland at the Grands et Jeunes D’Aujourd’Hui Salon 2000, Paris, Luxembourg, Japan. In 2026 and 2025 work was selected by The Irish Embassy showing at: The Hague, Netherlands; and the European Parliament Liaison Office, the European Commission Representation in Ireland, Dublin. My practice work, won the SIAP award from ACNI 2025; and received the Rural Grant Award from DAERA, 2025; a CCG Council Practitioners Bursary was awarded towards the Art collaboration project, ‘Self-identity through Mark Making’ working in the Muhanga area and Kigali, Rwanda, 2025, then twinned with Wi-Fi facetime to Castlerock, NI community workshops. In 2024, work was selected showing at: The Royal Scottish Academy; sculpture solo show ‘Congruent’, at F.E. McWilliam Gallery, alongside E. Blackadder, Joan Eardley; The Himalayan Garden Sculpture Park, North Yorkshire; Shanghai, Chengdu (VA Gallery); Chongqing (VA Gallery); Hong Kong; Dublin; Sligo; and Luxembourg.
