Fac

I am an ocean artist, with an extensive studio based in Bargrennan, Scotland, creating primarily for my family art business in the Cayman Islands and now expanding into the Scottish home market. The link to Cayman, arose when my daughter moved there eighteen years ago. My practice uses layered processes with oil, resin, sculpture and found elements to deepen my portrayals of the ocean in all its senses. Over the past four years, I have also created augmented-reality animations of my paintings, immersing viewers in the work through sound and moving image. These short films are accessed via QR code and play automatically on a smartphone. Since 2018, I have sold over 60 works and raised more than $70,000 for the Cayman Islands Breast Cancer Foundation through the annual auction of my donated pieces. My work has been acquired by collectors in Cayman, Canada and the United States. New to the Scottish art community, I have not yet sought gallery representation here, though I am represented in Cayman. My work has been featured in glossy magazines including Real Life Caribbean and Inside Out. The works I produce tend to be very large, making them perfectly suited to the expansive luxury homes my collectors love to invest in. However, as I get older, I can find the large works physically challenging and have been leaning to creating works of sizes A0 or smaller. I am an active member of the Cayman Art Community and now, Open Studios Scotland.
