Rosamund

Coyle-Bennett

I am a fibre artist specialising in hand spinning, hand weaving, knitting, felting and embroidery. Based in Troon, my practice explores landscape, colour and texture . Utilising my handspun art yarns on rigid heddle and tapestry looms, I create one-of-a-kind wearable textiles, woven art pieces, and mixed-media fibre work. I am also an experienced educator, working in Scottish Education for almost thirty years. In 2022 I launched “Rosie Saves the Earth” combining my artistic skills and love for the natural world to promote sustainable approaches to traditional crafts. Through Rosie Saves the Earth, I offer a welcoming space for others to develop their own creativity whilst learning skills they can share with others. As well as nurturing creativity, I also aim to nurture wellbeing by sharing the joy and mindfulness of making. Sharing my practice, and my studio, with others allows me to play my part in sustaining Scotland’s traditional crafts, bringing a vibrant contemporary approach to my work.
