I am a painter currently living and working in the Scottish Highlands, after a nomadic professional life. I came to full time painting later in life, after a long career in the humanitarian sector. I have drawn and painted as an amateur for as long as I can remember, and relish the opportunity to finally focus on art full time. I paint mainly landscapes, and mainly in oils, but also enjoy still life and portraiture.

Previous Experience

I have learnt to paint through a mixture of self teaching, and a long and varied patchwork of online and face to face learning opportunities. Of these I am most indebted to Barry John Raybould’s Virtual Art Academy. In my first year of full time painting, my portrait “The Smile” was selected for exhibition in the Mall Galleries in London, in their 2024 exhibition of the Royal Society of British Artists. I am thrilled to now start engaging with local groups near to where I have moved, in the Inverness area.
