Disciplines: Photography

Location: Crail

I’m a photographic artist based in Fife. My work is process driven and site specific. I’m interested in the environment around me and seeking out the traces that reflect a wider environmental story and the history of the place. This could be natural or manmade. Since I moved permanently to Scotland, I’ve concentrated on capturing the Scottish landscape. For many years I worked mainly with digital formats creating images on various surfaces depending on the context, eg, muslin banners of outdoor bathing pools in Fife. I’ve always been interested in early photographic processes in particular cyanotypes, lumens and salt prints. I’ve recently discovered soil chromatography which I plan to develop to complement my landscape photography.
