Marlo Marrero is an abstract watercolor artist, creative entrepreneur, and veteran art educator based in Connecticut. She holds an MFA in Photography from the Hartford Art School, and her distinguished career in arts education includes years shaping young artists at Miss Porter’s School. Currently, she is the co-founder and co-owner of Creative Jam Art Co., a dynamic local art studio where she fosters a robust community of regional creators, students, and art enthusiasts. Following a deep ten-year dedication to homeschooling her children, Marrero returned to her daily studio practice with a striking shift in medium. Transitioning from the absolute framing of documentary and conceptual photography to the organic fluidity of watercolor, her current work explores the concept of the “Liquid Horizon.” Marrying her multicultural roots—spanning Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Scottish heritage—her paintings bridge terrestrial mountain forms with the sweeping, undulating life of New England’s marine ecosystems.
