Reid

Disciplines: Painting

Location: GLASGOW

Materials: Oil, Watercolour
Kirsty Reid graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee in 2018. She currently lives and works in Glasgow. Kirsty’s practice considers materiality through the exploration of paint and various surfaces including delicate papers and ceramics. She reflects on time spent in the landscape, considering a sense of stillness and connection to the natural world to create meditative pieces. These often make reference to cycles such as the movement of day into night within its wider seasonal rhythm. These observations root each work to a specific moment in time, experienced just once in their particular form and essence. Alluding to small details noticed on site, the titles of the works provide a space to unravel these stories slowly.
