I’m a multidisciplinary artist based in Angus, Scotland, with a background in Drama and Theatre Arts. My practice moves between sculpture, installation, performance and moving image, often exploring themes of memory, transformation and the relationship between people, objects and their environments. My work is usually led by an idea, story or place, and develops through research, observation, collecting and experimenting with different materials. I’m interested in how these different art forms can come together to create an experience, rather than working within just one medium. My current project, The Wreck, began during a VACMA-funded period at Scottish Sculpture Workshop in 2025, where I explored ceramics, casting and working with locally gathered clay. Since then, I’ve continued developing the project through fieldwork along the Angus coastline, particularly at Boddin Point and Lunan Bay. I’m fascinated by the deteriorating boats found along this coastline and the beauty in their slow decay. Through photography, sound recordings, found objects, temporary sculptures and ceramics, I’ve been exploring our relationship with time, memory and our desire to preserve things rather than allow them to disappear. More recently, ceramics has opened up new possibilities in my practice, allowing me to begin creating physical forms I’ve imagined for years. I’m continuing to develop The Wreck through material experimentation, with the longer-term ambition of bringing sculpture, moving image, sound and performance together in an installation.
