I am a contemporary painter based in West Lothian, Scotland. Music lies at the heart of my artistic practice; every painting begins with a piece of music and is named after the track that inspired it. Rather than illustrating a song, I seek to capture its mood, rhythm and emotional resonance through colour, texture and movement. Working predominantly in abstract and semi-abstract forms, I explore the connections between sound, memory and place, inviting viewers to experience both the visual artwork and the music that informed its creation. By listening while viewing, I hope to create a more immersive and personal connection with the work. This multisensory approach has been embraced by a local hearing clinic, which has acquired a selection of my paintings for permanent display. Clients are invited to listen to the accompanying music through newly fitted hearing aids, creating a unique experience that brings together art, music and hearing. Alongside my own practice, I founded the Forth Shore Art Collective to create exhibition opportunities and encourage artistic collaboration within the local community.
