Disciplines: Painting

Location: New Galloway

Materials: Etching, Oil
I was born in Margate, Kent, and for many years lived in Shropshire. I moved to Scotland in 2022 where I now live and work as an artist, allowing me to take in the wonderful nature Dumfries and Galloway has to offer. My artistic inspiration has always been with natural forms of nature, and the wonderful colours nature produces. The journey of becoming an artist started after completing an A’ level Art and Crafts course. Then studying at the University of Wolverhampton where I started a MA in Fine Art but had to stop due to ill health. I am a stroke survivor and see colours in a new light. My favourite medium is oil painting, but I also work in etching, screen printing and lino printing I am currently an Open University student studying a Masters in Creative Writing, and would like to combine my love of poetry with love of art.

Previous Experience

My work was pre-selected for the ‘Threadneedle Prize’ in 2018 and pre-selected for the ‘Society of Marine Artists’ at the Mall Galleries in London. ‘Greenhouse Frog’ a dry-point etching, with watercolour, was exhibited at the ‘Royal Society of British Artists’ Mall Galleries, London. I have also exhibited at the ‘Botanicals 2020 Exhibition’ and ‘4th. Patterns Exhibition 2020’ for Light Space and Time, America. I have had a piece exhibited in the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Open Exhibition 2020. In the last couple of months I have exhibited with the South West Printmakers of Scotland exhibition at Castle Douglas and then Catstrand, New Galloway. I have also had a piece of work accepted in the Ironbridge Fine Arts print exhibitions in 2023. 2024, and 2025 in Ironbridge.
