Baff

Jennifer Baff is an aspiring art jeweller and silversmith from West Lothian, Scotland. She studied Applied Arts at City of Glasgow college and has recently graduated from The University of Edinburgh where she studied jewellery & silversmithing. During this time, she learned about the fundamental skills of jewellery and silversmithing with both precious and non-precious materials. She also completed an internship at Hamilton & Inches in 2025. Throughout the 8-week work placement she worked alongside experienced jewellers and silversmiths, where she was taught traditional jewellery and silversmithing techniques. Jennifer creates jewellery that is inspired by details in nature that by most people would go unnoticed. Her recent collection ‘Sea Forest’ is sculptural, interchangeable earrings inspired by seaweeds fluid forms and movement. Made with silver, copper and various patination methods.

Previous Experience

Jennifer studied Applied Arts at City Of Glasgow College. She engaged with experimental drawing techniques with various medias. She also explored ceramics, glasswork and metalwork. After achieving a Higher National Diploma, she wanted to develop her craft and focus on jewellery and silversmithing which she studied at The University of Edinburgh, Jewellery and Silversmithing BA (Hons). At university she learned techniques such as forging, raising, stone setting and practical bench skills like saw piercing, filling, soldering and polishing. She also has experience working with CAD and casting processes. In her third year at university, she gained an internship at Hamilton & Inches, working within the Hamilton & Inches workshop. She has been awarded with a bursary from Hamilton & Inches. She also received a Visual Arts Scotland Graduate Award for her graduate jewellery and silversmithing collection. She exhibited her graduate show collection “Sea Forest” at the ECA Graduate Show 2026
