My work depicts figures in emotionally ambiguous settings, drawn from glimpsed interactions, photographs, film stills, memory and literary recollections. These memories, which can be unreliable, enable an imaginative approach to capturing fleeting moments without specific temporal or contextual reference, though pose or dress may suggest these. Working primarily in oil or acrylic sometimes with collage. I build layers over trim e while maintaining an immediate spontaneous appearance.
