‘My work is defined by the nature, colour, landscape and light of my surroundings in Orkney, which I love’ Born Orkney 1958. Studied at Grays School of Art, Aberdeen and Harrow college of Art, London graduating in Illustration in 1985. Jane has worked as a professional artist in Orkney since returning home in 1985.

Previous Experience

Jane Glue opened her own gallery in 1987 in Kirkwall, later moving to the village of Finstown until 2015. Since 2019 she has worked from her studio at The Creative hub, Hatston, Kirkwall where she paints and run’s her own website selling limited edition prints, gifts and original paintings. Exhibitions: The Highland Art Prize McCallum Art House, Fort William October 2025. The Scottish Landscape Awards 2025 Kirkcudbright Galleries July-sept 2025. The Meffan Institute, Forfar, The Royal Scottish Society of painters in watercolour Third Open summer exhibition 2014 Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh, The Royal Scottish Society of painters in watercolour annual exhibition 2012. Assocation of Illustrators Gallery, London, Young illustrators Awards 1984.
