Immanuel Obani is a multidisciplinary visual artist and data scientist now based in Bradford, England, UK. He completed an MSc in Big Data Science and Technology (Distinction) at the University of Bradford, focusing on NLP and responsible AI – a technical grounding that runs alongside his creative work rather than apart from it. He is a member of the British Art Network. Painting mainly in acrylic and charcoal, alongside digital media, Immanuel builds his work around ancestral memory, diaspora identity, and cultural heritage, drawing on an Afrofuturist visual language. He has exhibited at the Bradford African Festival of Arts, where his paintings Vessel of Memory and The Pulse of Progress received the Crescendo and Bravo Awards, and at the EducateHer Climate Initiative Launch at the University of Bradford, where his commissioned pieces addressed climate justice and gender equality. Across his practice, he returns to the same questions – how memory, culture, and identity can be held in paint and pattern.
