I am a painter and printmaker working on themes involving humans and the landscape, exploring our connection, and disconnection with the natural world. Humans are intimately rooted within nature both bodily, and spiritually, but in modern life we have forgotten this. In my work I seek to attempt to rebuild this fading relationship, viewing the land and the body as one, merging and entwining them until they become indistinguishable. I use the wild, dramatic scenery of the East coast where I grew up as my main inspiration, often drawing from the different stories and folkloric creatures that are known throughout Scottish mythology to further link in our shared connection with the earth.
