I am a Scottish printmaker and photographer with a fascination with nature and the human connections within it. The Forrest is a place where I feel most at peace, I have always had a bond with the woodlands, beginning within those of my hometown that surrounded me in my childhood and continues to inspire my art today. I find the natural spaces I visit are never the same, as the landscape evolves with the influences of time and human interactions. I aim to rekindle our old connections with the natural world as we migrate further from these spaces through oral and written narratives and creating a sense of place within which a viewer can travel. My themes serve as a starting point to propel my making, using photography to gather, document and give context to my explorations. I am fascinated by folklore with a current focus on the Celtic myths surrounding nemetons and encountering the other world. Using making as a practical form of research and investigation to produce experimental artworks utilising screen-printing, mono-printing, collagraph, and cyanotypes.
