Evangelina explores the reinterpretation of classical myths within the framework of an ecological crisis. She analyzes and questions how the archetype of Mother Earth has been transformed, moving from being a creative, life-giving figure to a setting of oppression, destruction, and imbalance.The artist revises classical myths to reflect on the conception of a world that might have been matriarchal, as a return to nature. She addresses the theme of reclaiming the bond with nature as a gesture of rebellion against the established patriarchal system, in an act of non-imposed healing.The goddesses in her work represent the construction of female identity through popular beliefs, myths, and legends, reminding us of a time when women played a central role in power systems, in balance with nature and the sacred.

Previous Experience

Evangelina holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Her group and solo exhibitions have been held in Spain, Argentina, Brussels, London, Portugal, Sweden, and Trento, Italy. Notable venues include the AISGE Foundation in Madrid and the European Parliament in Brussels (2015). Other significant projects include an exhibition for “Researchers’ Night” at the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid, and the “Fashion Art Institute – Recicla Futuro” project by designer Manuel Fernández, showcased at the French Embassy in Madrid and the Royal Tapestry Factory in 2018. She also participated in “Gallery Night” in Malmö, Sweden (2019), and her painting “The New Ophelia” served as the promotional image for the auteur film “Konstnärerna och deras verk” (2020). Her work is included in public collections, such as the Fuenlabrada City Council’s Women’s Center, as well as private collections across Portugal, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany,
