Eona Murray

Aitken

Disciplines: Mixed Media

Location: Edinburgh

Materials: Acrylic, Etching, Pastel, Pencil, Watercolour
After training as a Primary School Teacher in Glasgow, I travelled in the Middle East, India and Japan. This had a profound influence on my painting methods and materials. I became preoccupied with textures, layered surfaces and abstraction which are still important elements in my exploration of themes such as gardens, plants and landscapes. Various journeys to north-west Scotland, Norway and Iceland have led to an interest in geology, volcanic activity, glacial retreat and geothermal power. Recent work is a response to the vulnerability of trees and other plant life due to fires and changing weather patterns. I am a Professional Member of the Society of Scottish Artists. More work can also be seen on the “Scotland’s Artists” website: https://www.scotlandsartists.com/artist_profile2.php?recordID=71
