Emma

Griffin

Emma Griffin is a multidisciplinary artist, working in several mediums that include, painting, printmaking, sculpture, assemblage, graphics and textiles. Primarily producing art on subjects focused around nature, Emma was born and grew up in Guernsey, the Channel Islands surrounded by fields. Her first experience of feeling completely free in nature was when she was about eleven years old, running through a maze of cornfields. Her parents would look for her, by shouting loudly from their car, while driving slowly along the grassy verge waiting for her to reappear! Currently based in Scotland, Emma Griffin is a member of the Neuk Collective and Edinburgh Printmakers. She works part time at the National Galleries of Scotland and credits this role for providing her with the art education she missed by not going to art college. Spending time up close with the artworks for hours at a time, really allowed Emma to study the works and understand what was possible when it came to making her own works of art.

Disciplines: Painting

Location: Kirkcaldy

Materials: Acrylic, Pencil, Screenprinting, Watercolour
