Elaine

Woo MacGregor

Elaine Woo MacGregor’s artistry offers a unique perspective on the fusion of cultures. Through an eclectic use of mark-making and imagery, she weaves together atmospheric, theatrical narratives that—while often fictitious—are deeply rooted in historical archives, real places, and museum objects. Her practice synthesizes oral traditions with global history to explore the “people stories” of fortune and misfortune across time. Currently, her work continues to pull at the threads of memory and female identity within the context of the Scottish-Asian diaspora.

Disciplines: Painting

Location: Linlithgow

Materials: Acrylic, Oil, Watercolour
