David Prosser is Head of Art & Design at St Leonards School in St Andrews, Scotland. He was previously Head of Art & Design at the Edinburgh Academy for 18 years and before that taught at George Watson’s College also in Edinburgh and in Portree on the Isle of Skye. He has always enjoyed working in a variety of media whenever he can alongside the commitments of teaching. He has recently gone part time to allow for more time to focus on his Art practice. David studied Graphic Design & Illustration at Central Saint Martins in London, working primarily in printmaking he then spent a short time working as an artist and illustrator before qualifying as a teacher. Teaching allows him to be continually questioning a wide variety of ways of recording the world around him and to be experimenting with a wide variety of media. Sketchbooks provide initial observations and inspiration, whether that be from landscape, travel or people on transport and in cafes. These are developed through painting, digitally and printmaking.
