Multidisciplinary artist Catherine Sargeant works broadly across painting, printmaking and installation. She often uses text in her artwork, creating highly unique paintings using a variety of media incorporating aspects of printmaking techniques, alongside this she also is known for her series based installations. Water, Weather, Words & Woods are her sources of inspiration. Graduating as a mature student from Edinburgh College of Art during its Centenary year in 2007 Catherine became the first recipient of WASPS new graduate award giving her a studio space in Edinburgh where she continues to work, she also works at a small croft studio in Wester Ross. She has exhibited widely in group and solo shows and has won several awards, her work is in a number of institutions. Alongside her art practise Catherine is a Freelance Art Educator with almost 20 years experience.
