Pawlus

Originally from Wigan I studied Foundation in Art and Design at Wigan College of Technology then a BA(Hons) in Fine Art at Wolverhampton Polytechnic, sadly this did not work out for me, and I did not complete the degree. I have a small space from home in the wood of Doune where I work from which includes painting, weave ,Knit and mono print projects. My work is taken from a varied selection of imagery be it landscapes, still life, nature, gardens, pond life and plants.Texture is a technique I use in all of my work which is an important part of the final image. Mixing collage from prints on rice or tissue paper in the style of impressionism, figurative and abstract tones on top of texture works well for me as a painter because the mark making takes on an unexpected form as does the experimental process of mono printing. Surface choices of stretched watercolour paper with a layer of canvas roll and gesso for texture gives the working surface a solid base which can withstand the different mediums I use. I create mainly for wellbeing and enjoyment but have sold my work in a high street environment.
