Like most artists, I am drawn to the energy of a location and seek to capture my experience through artistic expression. When the overwhelming presence of nature, where the mind escapes disoriented, stimulates me to register the landscapes with cartographic projections in an exercise of synthesis of the perceived place. Following a period of rediscovery, my work focuses on the memories or the remembrance retrieval, where the landscape becomes a tool and no longer capturing a moment. The disappearance of sunlight as a hidden or secret object, it is associated with one’s vulnerability… That is when I construct realities or fictions and I invite the images of the outside world to be transformed into images of the inner world. Consequently, the aesthetic dimension of the landscape is no longer measured by observation “in situ”. Not even with the emotional factor “in visu”. But it is associated with the re-cordis*, the retention of the past under a personal experience. The reading of the work joins one’s own perception, allowing us to imagine new worlds or different worlds beyond our knowledge. So, the compositions depict the antithesis of presence: The illusory fiction of the images we build. *Come back through the heart.
