I am a visual artist who makes drawings, objects, prints and collages. The placing of my work often seeks to convey a relationship between the piece, the artist and the viewer. Large scale, collaged drawings, incorporate a recurring and an imagined floral motif. A faded yet present symbol, perhaps a memorial or an offering, these drawings are necessarily time based; made, unmade and remade through careful engagement and application of ink/collage to create a visual and emotional balance. Through a creative process balanced between the intuitive and the conceptual, drawing and mark-making is central to everything I do and make. A move from the city to the country side in 2026, was also a pivotal turning point in my practice with the rural surroundings of the Scottish Borders having had a deep impact on my work, acting as an impetus to explore a long-held interest in place, personal and collective memory, loss and belonging often through the lens of landscape and the natural world. “My work seeks to conjure a feeling or an atmosphere, alluding to a potential narrative rather than providing a fixed meaning or a literal representation”.
