My name is William Laing, and I am a happily retired former I.T. Consultant, although still working as a part time Bicycle Mechanic and (now) a passionate Artist.

Based on the beautiful West Coast of Scotland, I am lucky to have some fantastic views to look out on, and lots of heritage and history around me to keep me stimulated.

Trying to describe my art to someone is well nigh impossible, as it represents different things to different people. I do not aspire to include any great message in my art, other than the simple pleasure I get from creating it.

Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursiuts and necessary to sustain life.

But poetry, beauty, romance, love, art, these are what we stay alive for.
