Tom Cooper

Tom graduated from Edinburgh College of art in 2001 with a BA Honours degree in Furniture design, and then in 2004 started his own business , setting up workshop in the grounds of Newbattle Abbey, Dalkeith, where he has spent the past 21 years developing his own unique style of furniture which is often inspired by the fluid and elegant forms found within nature.

His furniture is often seen as useful sculpture, which are perceived more as works of art rather than everyday household items, with the use of quality Scottish hardwoods, imaginative design and immaculate attention to detail, his work has attracted many notable clients such as The Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh’s Lord Provost, the actor Kiefer Sutherland and Dunfermline Abbey.
