SHEILA JARDINE

SHEILA JARDINE

  • Biography
Having worked as a jewellery designer I now use those techniques and my love of metal to express my passion for all things coastal by creating metal wire sculptures. Using brightly coloured painted, reclaimed wooden plinths and coloured crystal and glass I capture the essence of the seaside. Manipulating reclaimed Industrial wire I recreate coastal birds in flight, fish and fishing boats, crustacea and beach flora. My home overlooking Newhaven harbour inspires my work as well as the beautiful turquoise waters around St Ives in Cornwall where I am a frequent visitor. I encorporate salvaged coastal wood and stones in my sculptures and aim to bring the colours and energy of the sea to my art.
