- Biography
Since graduating I have been committed to painting and print-making, and am concerned with responding to landscape and the spirit of place. I have a studio at WASPS Patriothall, Edinburgh and have been a member of Edinburgh Printmakers' and was on their exhibitions committee in the 90s. I taught art p/t at St George's School, and completed my p/t art teaching career at ESMS. My employment has included programming education at the Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh in the 90s. This involved working with artists and agencies to make contemporary art accessible to a diverse audience. I led a ground-breaking interpretation project, produced videos about artists and ran workshops/forums about contemporary art practice. During that time, I was on the executive committee for the National Association for Gallery Education.
In the 80s - I was an associate producer for the Arts at Scottish Television and prior to this taught Art History for Adult and
Continuing Education, University of Edinburgh.
I teach on the freelance schools team for National Galleries of Scotland and run independent art workshops for adults.
Recent successful solo exhibitions include: Light within, Dundas Street Gallery 2025, There you feel free, Doubtfire Gallery 2022 and Dawyck Botanic Gardens 2021. I exhibit widely and most recently at: Graystone Gallery, Tatha Gallery, Velvet Easel Gallery, Strathearn Gallery, as well as taking part in Pittenweem Arts Festival and until recently Artwalk Porty. Collections of: University of Exeter and London, St Columba's Hospice, Art in Healthcare,
