  • Biography
A yearning for significance on being in this world permeates the artist's work, and without seeking to provide solutions, she hopes to encourage reflection on the impact of our actions. She draws from within herself to reflect on the universality of human drama, which is expressed through the limitations of her body, the repetitiveness of her gestures, the relentless seeking out of meaning, and the struggle to survive in the face of the evident absurdity of her actions.

Raised in Scotland Sarah Knill-Jones studied at the Glasgow School of Art and obtained her Master in Fine Art from the University of the Arts London.
The human form and our capacity for the monstrous is a key component, areas of colour create a fusion between image and situation, and partial obliteration lend the works a certain ambiguity and fluidity. Her practice incorporates drawing, painting, performance, print making, video and collaborative experiments, and the core remains centred on the creative act as a visceral, human response to the world we live in.
