I am of Malaysian-Chinese descent, based in Scotland these last few years after living in Hong Kong for over 50 years.

My deepest inspiration comes from mighty Mother Earth and her powerful natural resources – water, wind, molten lava. I am intensely awestruck by the magnificence of the sun and our galaxy, mystified by the enormity and infinity of the universe. Stargazing never fails to enlighten me, the stars remind me constantly of our human insignificance on this planet, highlighting our fragility which in turn motivates me to love and live my life to its fullest.

Forever grateful that I had the opportunity to travel extensively during my previous career, I now look back and realise that these experiences gave me invaluable insights of different places, cultures and people from diverse backgrounds. I have learnt to look beneath the surface.

Most of my work is painted in acrylic on wood and canvas. I like sketching in pencil, pen, charcoal, oil & pastel crayons, I always travel with a sketchbook. My paintings usually tell a very personal story.

The only positive from lockdown is that it provided me quality time to paint. I now feel ready to share my stories through my paintings with others.

I am a self taught artist, painting full time since 2011.
I had a brief 2 year stint of teaching arts and crafts to children in small personalised classes and hosted art parties and art jams for both children and adults which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Prior to this I was in the garment industry for over 25 years which allowed me to release some of my creative energy.

I have always loved sketching, drawing, painting, designing, making things, creative writing, photography, from since the day I began to remember.

Having time to spend on sketching and painting is liberating.
