As an artist my interest is in communicating an atmospheric, visceral repsonse to landscape – researching the environment, history and geology of the landscape I paint.
I often work in collaboration with poets or musicians, which I find an inspiring part of the creative process, resulting in videos, performance and multi-layered interpretations for artist and viewer.
I also worked for many years in the field of public art, most recently as lead artist/curator for the Leverndale Hospital, Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
My work has shown in galleries around the UK and abroad including the Royal Scottish Academy, City Art Centre, Open Eye and Sutton Galleries in Edinburgh, the Lighthouse, Brighton, Limetree in Bristol, Gallery One, Berlin and Corte Real in Portugal.
