I am a full-time artist and sculptor working most often with clay, 3D printing, bronze, steel, wood & found materials & objects, and paint. Once made, I use other techniques to transform and elevate the work and the spirit of the piece, often using photography, perspective and light. The natural world, so abundantly all around me on our remote croft on one of Shetland’s outer islands, is a major source of inspiration, along with the heritage of the sea. I also enjoy the contrast of cityscapes and my work sometimes draws on urban themes, along with the human condition and in particular gender-based violence and lack of freedom of movement.
As an emerging artist in a remote Scottish community I would like to find ways to share my work and join group exhibitions and collaborations.
