  • Biography
A one-eyed, left-handed, self-taught, semi-professional Scottish artist of Russian descent, who has captured the beauty of Scottish nature and history through the eyes of a foreigner since 2000. I hope that my artwork in this Society will not be discriminated against because of my origin or age.
Born in 1959 in the USSR, Oleg has been drawing and painting since 1972. Graduated from a Russian technical institute with a computer engineering diploma. Defended PhD thesis in 1992 in Computer Applied Science. An American company transferred Oleg in 2000 to work in their plant in Dundee as a presales consultant. Oleg started actively painting and selling his Scottish landscapes in 2004. As art was not his main source to get money for living Oleg was free to try different media and styles. Due to the medical reasons Oleg switched in 2023 to acrylic ink and pointillism. His current series is called "Scotland in pointillistic style". Personal exhibitions in Russia in the 80s and one in Dundee in 2005. Active participation in exhibitions of Dundee and Broughty Ferry Art Societies before 2013. After 2022 my artwork has been rejected by SSA and UK galleries because of my origin and age. Only Meffan gallery (Forfar) allows to take part in their annual exhibitions (2023, 2024). Multiple publications in International and Russian ART media. Website: www.sips-by-om.co.uk
